Questions before you start a GoCloud website
Your website software, hosting service and optional setup work are separate decisions. Use these answers to choose a practical next step.
How are GoRun and GoCloud different?
GoRun is the content management system. GoCloud provides a managed route to creating and running a website on it. Self-hosting GoRun is another route with its own operating responsibilities and license terms.
Does starting charge my card?
The published free-start offer requires no card at signup. Setup begins after signup subject to capacity; follow its progress in your account. Review the current plans before choosing a paid service. An inquiry is not a confirmed paid order.
Are the domain and email included?
The free start uses a GoCloud subdomain. Connecting a custom domain requires an eligible paid or owner-approved service term. Domain registration, email and external provider costs are separate.
Can my team edit the website?
Your dashboard supports pages, media, menus and identity with drafts and previews. Give people the roles they need and verify publishing permissions on your installation. The design is a starting point, not a replacement for your content review.
Can I move from an existing website?
Describe your source system, content volume and required features before requesting migration assistance. Content and media support must be checked; plugin behavior and custom integrations do not transfer automatically. Keep the old site available until acceptance and a planned domain switch.
Is AI included and already connected?
Using an external AI provider or MCP service requires configuration, keys and suitable permissions. Provider fees are separate. Check the selected context and review generated results before using them as public content.
Does the Mac preview create an account?
No. The experimental GoRun Manager opens a site you already have. The current preview is for Apple Silicon and macOS 13+, is not notarized and has documented compatibility limits. Read its guide before downloading.
What should I prepare before asking for help?
A short description of the site, its intended audience, a page list and the result you need. Include relevant public links and the current problem, but never passwords, API keys or private customer files.
