Choose a website around the work it should do
Start with the visitor and the next useful action. A complete design gives you a structure to edit; your real content and review make it a useful website.
A service or organization website
Explain who you help, what you deliver and how someone can make an appropriate inquiry. Start with a focused homepage, service pages, an about page and a clear contact route. Use your actual process and examples; do not publish starter testimonials as customer proof.
A personal or project portfolio
Show selected work with enough context to understand your role and the outcome. Prepare project descriptions, images you have permission to use and a practical contact method. Label conceptual or demonstration work clearly.
A publication or knowledge library
Organize articles around the subjects readers need. Agree on categories, authoring and review responsibilities, useful summaries and links between articles. Start with a small set you can maintain rather than an empty directory of categories.
Decide what belongs in the first version
- One main audience and a primary visitor action.
- A short page list with an owner for each page.
- Approved text, media and contact information.
- A language plan and a reviewer for each version.
- A launch checklist your team can repeat.
What needs a separate scope
Content writing, migration and custom integrations are not automatically included in hosting. Describe the source system, content volume and required behavior before requesting setup assistance. Forms, AI providers and external services need their own configuration and verification.
